Srinagar, July 16 — As the sun sets over the valleys of Jammu & Kashmir, there’s a growing sense of vigilance and preparation. Sources have revealed that additional companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) are set to be deployed across various parts of the union territory in the coming hours. This decision, although not yet formally announced, follows internal communications shared among security officials.
A senior official has confirmed that this strategic move is meant to reinforce law and order in key and sensitive areas. “We are adjusting our security grid to ensure better coordination and quicker response, especially with the evolving ground situation,” the officer shared on condition of anonymity.
The new CRPF deployments will complement the efforts of Jammu and Kashmir Police, focusing on security checkpoints (nakas), district patrolling, and crucial surveillance operations. These troops are expected to play a frontline role in frisking operations, vehicle checks, and responding to any threats or attacks, ensuring civilian safety remains a top priority.
Locals have started to observe increased security activity, especially in urban centers and transit routes. While the presence of more personnel may cause minor disruptions or longer wait times at checkpoints, residents are being reassured that these measures are precautionary and aimed at preventing any untoward incident.
