Srinagar, September 8, 2025 – The Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex (SKISC) in Srinagar came alive on Tuesday as it hosted the much-anticipated selection trials for the 3rd Asian Youth Games Bahrain 2025. The event drew aspiring young athletes from across the country, all competing for a coveted spot to represent India on the continental stage.

Under the watchful eyes of an experienced Selection Committee—led by Mohammad Iqbal (Chairman), and members Vinod Kumar (Haryana), Abhay Shriwas (Madhya Pradesh), Prem Singh Thapa (Odisha), and Aqsa Gulzar (J&K)—the trials were conducted with a commitment to fairness, transparency, and sporting spirit.

Lending further authority to the proceedings, Sonu Kumar, an official Observer from the Sports Authority of India (SAI), was present to monitor the selection process and ensure adherence to national standards.

A moment of inspiration for all the participants came from Irfan Aziz, Chief Coach of India, who attended the trials to personally cheer on the young athletes. In his brief yet impactful interaction, he reminded them of the immense pride and responsibility that comes with wearing the national colors.

The athletes selected from the trials will now gear up for a 15-day high-performance coaching camp, guided by the celebrated Indonesian foreign coach, Suhud Indranto. This camp aims to fine-tune their skills and prepare them for the intense competition that awaits at the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain.

Behind every medal is a story of struggle, discipline, and hope. These trials were not just about selection—they were about dreams being tested, resilience being forged, and futures being shaped.

To the young athletes—your journey has just begun. The nation watches, cheers, and believes in you.
